On Tuesday 3rd January at 9.00 pm the stage of the Teatro Accademia di Conegliano will be enlighted by the dancers of the Ballet of Russia, founded by the choreographer and soloist of the Bolshoi Theater Stanislav Konstantinovich Vlasov, and now directed by the étoile and teacher Ekaterina Shalyapina.
The dancers will stage “The Nutcracker”, one of the most famous and most performed classical ballets in the Christmas period. With their graceful dance steps, they will tell the adventures of Clara and her nutcracker in the shape of a soldier in their journey to the Kingdom of Sweets, and their battles and encounters with other characters such as the Mouse King and the Sugarfly Fairy.
As per tradition, the soundtrack will be the original notes by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The Ballet of Russia was founded in 1980 with the mission of spreading Russian culture and musical art, both classical and modern, but over time it abandoned the initial project in favor of an academic repertoire: this is how, today as then, it brings to the world most important works such as “Swan Lake”, “Sleeping Beauty”, “Giselle”, “The Nutcracker”, “Cinderella”, “Don Quixote”, becoming one of the most famous companies in the world.
