They all come from the Johannesburg Art Gallery in the homonymous city in South Africa, the sixty works that can be admired starting next October 11th in Palazzo Sarcinelli. There are sixty paintings, ranging in the last two centuries of art history, from William Turner to William Kentridge. Dwelling on the great Pre-Raphaelites, to then investigate the magical moment of Impressionism in a truly broad way, to document the transition to the new century, with figures like those of Matisse and Picasso and finally approaching contemporary art with artists such as Moore, Lichtenstein and Warhol. Sixty works that, with their very high quality, confirm not only the passion but above all the competence of Lady Florence Phillips, who decided to deprive herself of her magical blue diamond, exchanged for one of the paintings that could be admired to Sarcinelli. Here the works will arrive after a journey of 11,000 kilometers.
